WPA2-PSK changed, no users can login (and are not asked to enter a new password)

One of our Resellers reports that they have multiple installations with the following problem:

When changing the WPA2-PSK for an SSID, users cannot log-in anymore - which is plausible. But their clients just fail, and don't pop-up a window asking for a new password.

When doing the same change with an Apple Airport, using the same client devices, they do receive the "Enter new password" request.

I cannot image how this could be caused by the infrastructe, as this should be pure client behaviour what to do when the psk authentication fails. Unless the Apple Airport is changing the BSSID on every PSK change??

Does anyone have some more information on this behaviour and maybe an idea to fix that (despite of asking every user to configure their client to forget the SSID in question)?

We have the same problem with returning visitors that use a day or week pass (also WPA2-PSK).
Obviously the key has changed on their return but they are never asked to enter the new key, their device just keeps trying to connect to the SSID ...

Would be great if someone has a solution for this!

Rebooting the AP's worked for me
