Is QOS configuration on the wired side obligated when using just WMM? And if so, wy using WMM over the QOS config?
Thx!

Hans,

WMM provides QoS over the Wi-Fi link only, but can be configured so that WMM QoS maps to wired QoS.  In many cases, it's not necessary because the wireless link is the most important link to prioritize, and the wired backbone is fast enough that you get backbone QoS by overprovisioning.

Hello Matthew
Thx, this few sentences makes it a lot clearer ;). One more question, can we use the classify mapping only with WMM (so without wired QOS 801.1p / dfcs)?
Thx

Yes, many customers do exactly that.  Our default DSCP map will automatically give you WMM treatment on the Wi-Fi link, and should work pretty well in practice.  Many VoIP systems will automatically set a reasonable DSCP value on voice traffic.  It doesn't get any additional priority on Ethernet, but the AP will notice the DSCP value and drop it into the voice queue when it hits the wireless interface.
