On my wish list of features to be added to the on-premise HiveManager and/or HiveOS:

  • The ability to exclude ambiguous characters from PPSKs.
  • The ability to automatically E-mail users just before their PPSK expires.
  • The ability to automatically E-mail users when their PPSK reoccurs.
  • Unique E-mail and printing templates for PPSKs.
  • The ability for User Manager Operators to revoke PPSKs they have the permission to create.
  • The ability to log all or some of the PPSK creation fields so that you can determine who was assigned which reoccurring PPSK and when.
  • The ability to group IP objects, such as servers, together into a single object for use with the firewall policies.  For example, grouping five Citrix servers together into a single "Citrix Servers" object.
  • The ability to groups ports, protocols, etc. together into a single object for use with the firewall policies.  For example, grouping all the ports required by Citrix servers into a single "Citrix Ports" object.
  • Real time firewall logging - either via Client Monitor or a new tool.
  • Client Monitor to be extended so it has an option to continue monitoring after the authentication and DHCP allocation processes have been completed.
  • The ability to enable an alarm when the transmit and/or receive retries recorded by an access point exceeds a predefined value.
  • The ability to enable an alarm when a wireless client drops below a reported RSSI and/or SNR for a predefined period of time - coverage hole detection.
  • The ability to have more than one PPSK server.
  • The ability is edit the MAC addresses assigned to each PPSK when a PPSK server is utilised.
  • The ability to edit the access point tags.  For example, the ability to remove a tag value from the drop down menu once it is no longer required.

  • The ability for a recurring PPSK (eg a Daily Passcode) to be automatically emailed out each time it refreshes
  • Certificate based authentication for APs (probably to an Aerohive switch or other device) so that someone cannot remove an AP and gain access to a network.  (Most useful in multi-tenant sites where you do not have physical control over the APs)

Hi Mike,

In our case, we have three different offices and we have defined the same SSID in the different offices (with the same name).  It's normal that our users travels to the different offices.
We use one SSID for voice, only for our mobile phones. Our users don't need changed their wifi configuration when they change the office. To do that we need create three times the users with the same password. It would be right, if we could create  only one time the user and enter this user in the different groups, similar to the AD.

Say me if now it's clear.

Best regards,

Claudia

Folks,
These are all good suggestions. I cannot make any specific promises at this point in time, but please be assured that I and my peer Product Managers do read these, and we are working to get several of these suggestions into the next release or couple of releases.

I'll like to add the ability to utilise the values in the User Manager account template's table (PSK, Start Time, End Time, etc.) in the HTML header and footer areas.

  • Self registration: what a user typed in in self registration
  • Create PPSK on a AP (no HiveManager needed)
  • In Use Policy Acceptance: first scroll down and the Buttons appears
