Will HiveManager-NG support the older Aerohive devices?

Following on from the FAQ posting about the devices presently supported in HiveManager-NG and mention of more support coming, I am curious if we will ultimately see support for Aerohive's older 802.11n devices at some point and, if so, which ones?

Please note that additional platforms will be supported by HiveManager NG in upcoming releases.

Otherwise, customers with older devices have would have to remain on the 'classic' HiveManager until their respective EOL dates.

Clearly all tech products have a finite lifespan, all the more so in the fast-paced world of wireless networking. It may well not make sense to build in support for these APs when competing interests for finite resources are balanced. This is therefore just a request for information out of pure curiosity so that we know what's going to happen, I certainly have no vested interest in support for older Aerohive kit as I do not interact with anything older than AP330s...

I suspect that others will be interested too for planning purposes.

The End-Of-Sale (EOS) 802.11n devices are:

  • The AP320/AP340, limited to HiveOS 6.1rX.
  • The AP110 and AP120, limited to HiveOS 6.2rX.

Not yet End-Of-Sale (EOS) but version constrained devices:

  • The AP170 and BR100, limited to HiveOS 6.2rX.

Hi Nick,

Yes, we have plans to add support for the older platforms 802.11n platforms in HiveManager NG. We will provide updates on the timelines as we start planning out our upcoming releases.

Thanks
