Why study for the CWNA/P?

We've been doing design work for years and wonder why we would want to be certified. Does it really matter? Design and troubleshooting are very different animals. Basic design work can be done with the predictive Aerohive software, while serious troubleshooting requires 3rd party hardware and/or software. So why would studying CWNA be of value?
