When I go into the hive manager (Enterprise 6.1r6a) and go to configure my devices through configure and update device. I choose the AP to upload to, I click update and I check the box marked update to latest hive OS. It starts the upload and then says Abort and nothing changes.

Which APs are you upgrading, what version are they currently running and to what version are you upgrading?

There are a few things to look for, if you are using HMOL make sure you allow outbound SCP to allow the devices to get the file.

Another tip would be if you are having trouble upgrading a device, try rebooting it first and then initiate the upgrade process.

Also if you can show us the error message that is produced it would help us to help you.

Here is a possible scenario that would create this issue:

When you send out an upgrade OS command the AP will update the backup image held on the AP, then reboot and switch to the backup.  That way you can roll back if the upgrade fails.

If the AP you are trying to upgrade already has new version  on the backup image, the upgrade will fail.

From the Utilities Menu, select "Set the Image to Boot" and you can see what OS images are held on each AP: if the backup is a higher version, simply select that one and reboot.
