We need to replace an AP. This specific AP has several specific settings.
Is there a way to replace MAC or serial number so all settings on new AP are exact as on the current AP?

Thanks,
Steven.

An option you can do it to SSH into the AP, issue a -show running-config-, and copy/paste this to notepad. When the new AP comes online, again SSH into the new AP and paste the old code into it. Any passwords show up as ***, so you would need to edit those (SSID PSKs, admin root-admin, and capwap client dtls hm-defined-passphrase) are three that I see in a config I am looking at.

It would be cool to clone an AP similar to cloning other objects within HM, this would give you mirror images of device specific settings and all you'd need to do it apply it to APs as needed.

Hi Brian,

I was already afraid that copy and past config would be the only option.

I'm also a big fan of cloning AP or just be able to change mac and/or serial number.

I'll check if we could launch a feature request.

Steven.

+1 for a feature request (feature restore request).

Send in the clones...this feature existed (and I made use of it regularly), but it was commented out, disabled in 6.0r2 , see my post here from a few months back:

Please bring back the "Clone" a device in the Configuration area...we can clone just about everything else, but this is a feature we need back!
