I've looked at the data sheets and pretty much the specs are identical, so what really is the difference here between these two models?  Is there a difference in CPU or memory or chipset?

Sorry for the late jump in but a couple of quick thoughts/facts that may help clarify.

They are both 3x3:3 ac APs but that the 370 has more powerful radios, dual and redundant PoE and option for external antennas on the platform (390) making it more appropriate for deployments where greater range is required. The 230 is also 3x3:3 so throughput is going to be similar, but the radios are not as powerful changing the coverage pattern, single poe and only internal antenna. The AP being 20% cheaper makes it more appropriate for denser deployments that require more APs which is also where the higher power radios don’t get you any real benefit.

As more and more enterprises deploy .11ac for density as well as throughput, we believe that customers will turn to the 230 more often, but both are high-end enterprise products depending on the use cases.
