Hi,

For a school with 30 classrooms and 800 students I'm looking for a proper Wireless design.

Option 1: Simple use multiple SSID's, one public for students and one private for teachers
Option 2: Use ID Manager and setup policy's and access
Option 3: Deploy Student manager

Can anyone give me some input and insights for a suitable design?

Do you have Active Directory or Radius? Otherwise you can configure 802.1x. Then you can create 1 SSID and make an user profile for the students (for example: only surfing, no facebook and vlan 10) and one for the teacher (example: Surfing, internal network and vlan 20)

Hello Patrick
As Jonas mentions, you only need an other SSID if you have a different authentication procedure (for example PPSK for guests and 802.1x for employees). The settings per role are configured at userprofiles. I think it is not option1, option2 OR option3 but rather option1 AND option2 AND option3.

Hi Patrich,(option 1) you can use dynamic VLAN with only 1 SSID. And use NPS to assign different user groups to different VLAN within same SSID.

I can try to write a little more about it this weekend when i have a little more time.
