User Manager Data Collection

I want to use the User Manager in a different way so I need to collect different information when when the Operator creates a new account. I need to use this to create accounts for school owned devices like laptops, desktops, and tablets. These will be permanent accounts with the MAC locked to the PPSK. I know we can just log in to HMVA as ourselves but the User Manager is faster.

Is there a way to change what is collected? I can't put the device name in the "Comment" area but "Visitor name" and "visitor company" isn't needed in this case.

Hi Robert,

There is not a way to alter what fields are requested/required in the Temporary Account template.

However, there is an alternative that you may find meets your needs. I assume you are using User Manager Operator accounts to assign Automatically generated PPSK keys. You will find that User Manager Admin accounts can additionally assign Permanent Keys that are manually created or are Automatically generated but are always available.

Create a Local User Group of Manually Created PPSK keys or a local user group of always available automatically created keys, then create a login for a user that is assigned User Manager Admin rights. You will find a new option for Permanent Key assignment. The downside is that the PPSK value is not auto generated in these cases, but you can always paste in somethign from a password generator like grc.com/passwords.

Here is a screen of the fields for this kind of account:
