I've noticed the other day, that the CentOS version, the HiveOS is based on will be out of support at the end of march.
Are there any plans on updating the CentOS version?

regards,
Hannes

Are there any news on the update? Does version 8.0r1 use a newer CentOS Version?
Btw.: Does anyone know if there is samba running on the system somewhere?

Hannes,
The underlying operating system in HiveOS was originally based off of CentOS, but it bears the same relationship to CentOS as my favorite hammer does to when my grandfather originally bought it. The handle was replaced five times, and the head twice.

The linux kernel in HiveOS 8.0r1 was not updated. We are doing that in the upcoming HiveOS 8.1r1.

Portions of SAMBA are used for Microsoft Active Directory integration, only. There is no file system support.
