SOHO product with SOHO performance. OK for a couple of connections but not designed for enterprise deployments. When an access point data sheet's first point is about how far an access point can be heard then you know it is a SOHO device.

Keith Parson's stress testing at Wireless Field Day 4 (http://www.wlanpros.com/wi-fi-stress-...) showed that the Ubiquiti access points could not compete with enterprise access points.

When an access point is one tenth to one fifth of the price of the Aerohive equivalent there is a reason.

So it really depends on the wireless requirements. If it is a small SOHO office with three staff then the Ubiquiti will provide access at a fraction of the cost of Aerohive.
