when I try and relocate a AP on my topology map I get the following error message when trying to save "It is not possible to add devices to "Floor 6" because a simulated device has already been assigned to it." Any suggestions or an explanation of what is causing this?

Thanks!

the error message appeared first when I tried to change the 5ghz channels of 2 physically adjacent AP's, to get around this problem I moved the AP's up the topology ladder and now when I try and relocate them (put them back on the floor they were previously) I get the same message again...

It sounds like you are trying to put the APs on a Map which has been used for Planning, and has not had all the Planning APs removed.

Provided there are no APs on the "Floor 6" map already and you are assigning the AP through the Configuration/Devices/Modify menu I would expect you to be ok.

I'm going with Terence on this one. Depending on which version of HM you're running, copy or clone the map, remove all APs and try again.

Best,
