Hive AP121 does not respond to snmp queries. Have tried snmp v1, v2, hivecommunity string as well as public. Have configured queriers which are on the same network.

SNMP does work in HiveOS. Are you really sure you want to use v2? You should, in normal circumstances, only be using v3, typically with 128-bit AES.

(v1 should normally never be used. v2 perhaps only for debugging or lab purposes where you want an easy packet capture.)

Have you configured in the appropriate places, for example, permitted SNMP in the traffic filter that is applied? (Security Policies > Traffic Filters)

I hadn't but did just now. What I found is snmp had to be configured in 5 places:

ip object querier definition

Management service - > snmp assignments

Security -> Management ip filter to include the querying object

Traffic Filter -> to permit snmp + telnet

Network configuration to include management server + traffic filter

(This was painful...)
