Minor Configuration Errors in HMNG that I can't seem to figure out. I am using Radius 802.1x to map Faculty and Students to different profiles. Anyone know why I am seeing these errors in the logs?

This error occurs when the RADIUS server returns an attribute that does not map to a user profile assigned to the SSID where RADIUS is being used as the authentication method.

In Aerohive deployments the following RADIUS attributes are commonly returned:
  • Tunnel-Medium-Type - IP v4
  • Tunnel-Pvt-Group-ID - [The user profile attribute]
  • Tunnel-Type - GRE
In your example the RADIUS server returned the Tunnel-Pvt-Group-ID of 40 but the user profile whose attribute is 40 was not assigned to the SSID so the error was reported.

Similar Error, the attribute number is different but I cannot find it referenced any where. All Authentication is done in ID Manager and it does not reference this attribute number either. Is there a way to view all attributes referenced in HIve Manager (not NG).

James - User profile attributes are defined in ID Manager under 'Guest Type'

I have looked through all of the Guest Types and none are using this attribute.

The attribute variable is assigned via the user profile, unfortunately that is the only place they are 'referenced' within HM. The list of these is found under 'configuration' and then 'user profiles' in the sub menu on the left hand side.

This is where I was looking, the Attribute number in the error message does not corresponded with the any user profile attribute. I have logged with support, will see how they respond.
