We have our own virtual appliance that we use for our customers. We have an issue with the teacherview. We created a class in teacherview and connected the class to a teacher, but when we logon with the theacher's credentials en choose view class in the left menu, the page tries to load but after a while we receive a 'page can not received' error. We have ports open on SSH, CAPWAP, SSL, HTTPS, HTTP. What could be wrong?
Thx!

The hivemanager redirected to the internal IP off the hivemanager, despite the correct configuration to the public domain. The reboot of the appliance was the solution.

Hi Hans,

Glad to hear that you were able to get your configuration up and running. Just in case anyone runs into this in the future, our help system does document the process for configuring TeacherView  from using the private IP address (the default) to either a public IP or domain name:

http://www.aerohive.com/330000/docs/help/english/6.1r5/hm/full/help.htm#cshid=home/admin/services.ht...
Select Enable TeacherView, and enter the IP address or domain name that devices can use to reach HiveManager. If HiveManager is behind a firewall that performs NAT, enter the IP address that the firewall uses to map incoming traffic to the HiveManager interface IP address. You can also enter the domain name that resolves to the IP address on the firewall. If devices can reach the IP address of theHiveManager interface directly, then enter that address instead.

If you are using an HTTP proxy server, select Enable Proxy Server, and then enter the following information:

Proxy IP/Host Name: Enter the IP address of the host name of the HTTP proxy server.
Proxy Port: Enter the TCP port number that the HTTP proxy uses to accept HTTP connections. By default, the port number is TCP port 3128.

Proxy Auto Discovery File Location: Enter the path and name of the proxy auto discovery file you want to use to configure the conditional use of the proxy server. If you configure a proxy auto discovery file in TeacherView and you use DHCP option 252 (Private/Proxy Autodiscovery), then you must make sure that the file location that you enter matches the location configured in the DHCP option 252.

Enable Case Sensitive: (select)

Enforce case sensitivity for Student IDs: Select to apply case sensitivity to student identifications.

Finally, click Update.

To complete the activation of TeacherView, restart HiveManager services. Click Home > Administration > HiveManager Operations > Restart HM Processes, and then select Restart.

Note that while a reboot of the HiveManager appliance will certainly get the job done, if you require a change to these setting in the future you can simply restart the HM Processes to avoid system downtime.

Hope this helps
