I have three AP130's which have the following critical error: Hardware Radio --> System Core Dump. I could not find anything on the web about it. Had anyone ever experience this / know what it means?

It means the device crashed and rebooted itself, and saved a snapshot of it's state at the time of crash for Aerohive Technical Support to use in forensic analysis. http://docs.aerohive.com/330000/docs/help/english/6.8r4/hm/full/help.htm#cshid=home/admin/logs/kddrL...

Do they return to operating as normal? The client was saying they were having some connectivity issues today.

Yes, after a crash they reload the existing device configuration and resume operating normally. They may not return to exactly the same state as they were in pre-crash, because during normal operation the access points monitor the wifi spectrum and depending on local environmental conditions they may change away from the initial channel they booted up on and/or adjust power settings.

Would you suggest rebooting them again to get them back in tune with the others? I was also going to upgrade them to the golden version tonight.

Nick,
You do not need to reboot the AP again. It runs a channel assessment on boot and selects the best operating channel and power level at that time, assuming there is no manual static channel or power set in the configuration. I would recommend updating to the golden branch as soon as possible as it may resolve the crashes. If the crashes continue after the upgrade, the best course of action would be to contact Aerohive Technical Support (866-365-9918) to resolve the issue.
