Best plan of attack for optimal client coverage. I need to add more AP's as our office is a very strange layout and alot of obstacles and other 2.4ghz network are in the way. Some client devices (Mostly iphones) get poor wireless speeds and RSSI. I would like to do a thorough spectrum analysis, but i dont have a fluke tester to do a site survey etc... so what would be the best option to get optimal results and have thoroughly consistant 5Ghz coverage? I have messed around with the spectrum analysis but not sure if thats good enough. What is the average range from AP to client devices to utilize 5Ghz band? since there are alot more channels than 2.4 ghz I am assuming it might be possible to put them relatively closer together without interference? FYI im running ap230's.

Thanks in advance for the replies!

Are you familiar with the Planner functionality in HiveManager? This is pretty good at predicting the coverage if you correctly identify the walls, etc. within your facility.

After our initial planning and deployment of our 330 radios, based on the Aerohive software, we had the installer do a thorough walk through using Ekahau.  We compared the two heat maps and found them to be reasonably close.  Close enough that we base our initial deployments on the Aerohive software.  You do have to do all the setup for the software to get good results.
