Slow connection using wireless(AeroHive). No issues when connected using wired.

We have 3 Aerohive APs in the office and another one on another site. We are experiencing slow connections when connected to wireless but not on wired connection (direct to the CISCO switch)

I have shut/un-shut the ports of where the AP are connected and it seems to have worked for a brief period of time and went slow again. I have checked the switch and I don't see any errors (CRC) on the interfaces where the APs are connected.

I am very new to wireless especially this Aerohive and would appreciate all your advise on how to troubleshoot this issue.

HiveManager Express   6.6r3a
AP HiveOS 6.6r2a Irvine.2309  ver 4.0.8
AP130

Cheers
Eduardo

Hi Dong
There are a lot of things that can cause a slow WiFi network. What devices are used, how many, wich PHY's, wich datarates, maybe there is CCI or ACI, ... . Some knowledge is required to check those behaviours, also specialised equipment as a spectrum analyzer can be helpfull (sometimes another device as alarm detectors can be the cause, this you can see with a spectrum analyzer).

Also, both your HiveManager and APs should be upgraded to the current version of code. Current version of HM is 8.1r2 and current "golden" version of HiveOS for the AP130 is 6.5r8. You will need to upgrade HM first so that it can support the newer HiveOS.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the advise. Question on how to get the OS for the AP130, do we need to register for the Aerohive support portal?

Thanks
Eduardo
