Shared Chromebook Administration and PPSK

Has anyone out there developed a worfklow or method for using Chromebooks with Aerohive's PPSK authentication? My school used a standard Pre-Shared key for Chromebook authentication last year but that doesn't give us the ability to monitor individual network activity. I'd like to shift to using PPSK (private pre-shared keys) which are unique to each user for better monitoring and easier control in TeacherView.

The only way I can think to do this now is to have each student select the SSID, enter his/her key, and then log in to their chrome accounts.

Is there a way eliminate one of these steps on a shared chromebook? My gut feeling is no, but I thought I'd throw this out there and get some feedback from people that have done it already.

Thanks,

I don't  think that you can do what you want w/ PPSKs.

Alternatively, you could do something in the GAFE admin console.  Are you using NPS?  If so, how about using 802.1x  and in the GAFE admin panel setting up a student SSID that the Chromebooks should always connect to.   Pass the username with the ${LOGIN_ID} variable as the identity field value for the wifi connection. Then students should be prompted for a wireless password as soon as they login to the Chromebook.

If someone knows an easier way to do this I sure would like to know too!
