We have three sites and have just enabled a public WIFI on a separate SSID - this was in November last year.  now we want to report to management on the number of customers that used this new SSID since it went live and at what time of the day.  I can find anything.

Brad,

I don't think AeroHive has this capability. I have setup the system to email me a report every month to help me track this info.

What report is being emailed to you to track this info if Aerohive doesn't have this capability?

I have it setup to email me a usage report monthly, It won't do annual reporting. I just review the reports and add up the unique users based on the bar graph to provide an annual number. These are the reports I have e-mailed to me.

Selected Reports:Unique Wi-Fi Clients over Time Top 10 Aerohive Devices by Wi-Fi Client Usage
Bandwidth Usage over Time Top 10 Wi-Fi Client OS Types by Usage
Unique Wi-Fi Clients by OS over Time Current Client and Device Status (Network Wide)
Unique Clients by SSID

After review, I have the report run weekly.

I believe that the HMOL subscription only guarantees 3 days of records. Even with an on premise appliance we struggle to get  more than two weeks worth of reporting information (450+ APs I might add).

I am using On Premise and run reports several times a week.  I am currently tracking BYOD usage between 8 and 5 to show impact on our business operations for those guest devices.  I'm able to pull up a report for that criteria for a 1 month time period w/o problem.  Just does not have the drill down I'd like to see for who was connected at the time, but the bandwidth usage does exists.

It seems a bit silly that such an effective WIFI solution doesnt have such granularity of data.  The capability is there, the technology is there, and I would have thought this would be a key feature of a platform that provides an excellent Guest WIFI portal and access.  Thanks for your responses - Ill have to go and disappoint my customer now :)

I would say the reason why is that there are some many feature rich third party external captive portals already on the market that Aerohive just don't see adding another as a high priority.
