Redirect as soon as client associates?

Is it possible to have a client associate with a guest network and be automatically redirected to an external page? I want to deliver a fairly complex page to users as soon as they associate to the network. I'm using HiveManager NG.

If possible, I'd like to totally bypass any concept of authentication, registration, etc - the network should just be as easy as possible to get onto.

The default captive portal in HiveManager NG is not really what I want. Ideally the process would go something like:

  1. user joins wifi
  2. user is redirected to https://foo.com
https://foo.com is on the internet, not something delivered via the AP.

After that, they'd be free to browse whatever else they wanted.

It's kind of a "captive portal", but I don't care about using the CP for authentication purposes, I just want a redirect.

I've looked around and done quite a few searches, but I don't see a way that I can accomplish this in HiveManager NG. Any ideas?

Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for but we have a redirect setup under the "Captive Web Portal Success Page Settings" and then "Use simple URL address". That is however after "successful logon".

What about using the CWP but, for auth type choose Policy Acceptance and under Captive Web Portal Success Page Settings choose the redirect to an external page option? I believe that this as close as you can get to your ideal scenario using only the Aerohive system and besides having users accept terms is best practice.

Thanks both of you for the replies. I think Dawn's suggestion gets me as close as I can get, I'll try that out and see what happens.
