Are you asking if your Aerohive access points can be infected with the Reaper malware? No. To our knowledge, they cannot be infected with that.

Are you asking if a botnet of Reaper-infected IoT things can perform DoS attacks against your Aerohive network and the associated clients? Sure. That's they do. They come at you from all sides, making you feel like Tipi Hedren in the Hitchcock movie The Birds.

I guess I was checking for both. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing any sort of important updates to help prevent or alleviate this.

Thank you.

As I said in my other post:

Despite the possibility of issues, I followed Bill W's advice and upgraded all AP130's to 6.5r8a.  One user with an iphone had issues; which was cured by a logout and re-login. Again, I wish Aerohive would consider moving forward a generation on their golden release version for the AP130's. Perhaps they need to focus some extra resources in this area to do so, but it would be nice (for their support, as well as us users) to have a more simplified starting point.

Somewhere else, someone mentioned a version 6.5r8b, but I do not see that in my console. I think there was an asterisk which excluded the AP130. I think just going to that version would make things clearer and easier for everyone (customers AND support), even if there were no changes for this particular device. That way, it is "one-stop shopping" for versions.

Hi,

Yes, we have completed that CFD and 6.5r8b was made available via the HMNG cloud.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi,

Good question. A CFD is Aerohive's internal process for resolving customer issues when routed via the Client Services (Support) team. You will see these references sometimes in release notes.

Thanks,

Nick

I figured it was something along those lines, I just didn't know what the CFD acronym stood for.

CFD stands for Customer Found Defect.
