I am in the planning stages of an aerohive implementation. We are going to use Aerohive access points and switches. We are also planning on using the aerohive RADIUS server. Would it make sense to run the RADIUS server on the Aerohive switches instead of the AP's

I think I'd go primary-switch, secondary- AP.

Why would you do the secondary on an AP? Just curious.

I'd do the AP in case there is a failure in the wired infrastructure, power, etc. That way, if you have a meshed WLAN, your wifi clients will still have access to a RADIUS server. I guess if you have multiple switches in different locations/power, that would also work. Whatever you can do to eliminate a single point of failure.
