Hi,

I would like to know answers for below Queries.

1.Does each individual user VLAN need to be extended out to each AP?

2.Do Aerohive have outdoor 11ac Access points?

3.Large VLAN sizes can seriously hurt performance, thus the need for Layer-3 Roaming. How does layer-3 roaming work on Aerohive? Are GRE tunnels built between AP’s?

Thanks...!

It means that the port that the access point connects should expose the VLANs that you intend to offer at that location tagged - this makes sense as client traffic is not tunnelled back to a central controller.

Hi,

Need answers for below queries as well. Thanks in advance.

>What happens if a several clients associate in a common area (Cafeteria) then roam to classrooms? Is it possible that an individual AP will have to service 50 local clients plus another 50+ roaming clients at the same time? What happens to roaming users if this ‘Home’ AP runs out of capacity and becomes slow or unresponsive?

>How do I troubleshoot problems in an Aerohive network, particularly the L3 roaming mobility/tunnel break problem ?

·>Given that all of the functions are now on the AP, what do you do when the AP runs out of horsepower?

· >What is the upgrade path if you run into CPU or memory limitations in APs in an Aerohive deployment?

So it is a vendor fear uncertainty and doubt (FUD) sheet that trumps up speculative and somewhat specious points in a way that might sound superficially plausible to try to scare people off... Great! :P

Have you thought about contacting Aerohive in a more formal way?

I think it would be best for them to answer these questions in a substantive way.
