Public WiFi (*no auth*) - 2 Tier - 2 VLAN/Subnet -> Rate-Limit Based upon Yes/No Survey Participation.

Basically a non-auth'd (and non-radius if possible) drop em' in VLAN A or VLAN B based upon survey completion. The web server could perhaps proxy radius but submit a hidden shared auth for those who complete the survey? Basically we want free wifi no matter what with better throughput for answering a survey without re-joining another SSID. (already though of open and then give them access to another faster SSID but that breaks our close to frictionless onlboarding)... anyone got any suggestions .

This is an interesting idea. I am looking forward to seeing if someone has an idea on how to implement this.

I've been looking at this several times a day since you posted it, and I just don't see any way to accomplish everything you desire entirely on the box. You may be able to use our device redirecting to an external CWP and sending back attributes via RADIUS, plus possibly using RADIUS re-auth to accomplish it, but our on-box capabilities just don't match what you're asking.

I've forwarded this to my peer PLM in charge of authentication in general in the hopes that she has ideas on how to help you, as well as to consider for potential future improvements in our products.

Thank you so much for this, I'm glad I wasn't going mad... looking forward to any ideas or responses as the best I could come up with thus far due to constraints was to give them a password for another faster SSID if they do the survey however this breaks the frictionless onboarding experience...

I'd be interested in whatever crops up from this thread. We're attempting to do something similar, only allowing access based on survey completion, but not worried about two different throughputs.

I'm able to redirect from a customer Page to an external survey provider, but cannot redirect back to register.php correctly, it's just treated as a new session and launches the survey again. If you've got past this stage I'd appreciate some tips (I have a separate question open if you could refer).

Either way, very interested in this topic as looks more flexible in the long term. The best i've found so far is to look at introducing a gateway device, which really doesn't fit well.
