I am just getting involved in the configuration of our AeroHive system, as it was implemented by other team members.

While troubleshooting an issue with AirServer, the company asked if I could allow Remote Audio Output Services on the AeroHive Bonjour service.  I am used to avahi on ubuntu configuration, but I did end up finding the proper area for the configuration in our Hive Manager.

We are currently running version Enterprise 6.6r3a and my Bonjour Gateway Settings, which allow for an iPad to communicate without any issue to an AppleTV (between subnets/VLANs, AppleTV using an Ethernet connection).

Here are the options we have enabled:
  • AirPlay
  • Remote Audio Output Servives
  • APPLE TV Services
  • Aerohive HTTP Proxy Configuration
  • AeroHive TCP Services
  • AeroHive UDP Services
The developer at AirServer has been very helpful and willing to troubleshoot, and he stated that AirServer requires both AirPlay and RAOS to be enabled in order for the service to accept connectivity from a device using AirPlay.

I am hoping to hear from others who might have this issue or might have a possible solution or troubleshooting I can perform.  During my test, I can clearly find the AppleTV over the network but not the AirServer instance.

AirServer is currently running on Windows; I have also disabled any firewall option in case this was causing me conflicts.  I am running their newest version AirServer-5.2.23-x64.msi
