Problem with NAT after updating to HiveOS 6.6r1

Hi,

After updating AP130 to HiveOS 6.6r1 on one site, we noticed our guest wireless network stopped working. AP's are configured to act as a DHCP server and to NAT guest traffic through mgt interface.

After downgrading AP130 to HiveOS 6.5.r1, everything works fine as before.
Same problem was replicated on AP230 with 6.6r1, which was also confirmed working with HiveOS 6.4r1.

Clients get the IP addresses but can't get to the internet, so I'm guessing there is some kind of problem with NAT.

Did I miss something in release notes or is this just a bug?

Can you reproduce this in HiveOS 6.5r3, the golden long term stable release of HiveOS?

HiveOS 6.5r1 and 6.6r1 are old software releases at this point.

Everything works fine on AP230 with 6.5r3.
Can't test on AP130 at the moment.

Robert, Are you running your Hivemanger online or on-prem and which version are you running?

Best,

Robert,

It looks as though you are running into a known bug based on the description you have given. (I have not seen data to confirm this)

http://docs.aerohive.com/330000/docs/help/english/documentation/6.6r2_HiveOS_ReleaseNotes.pdf

"CFD-1272 -  DHCP services using NAT did not function properly on Aerohive devices after being
upgraded to HiveOS 6.6r1."

I believe that this issue is also resolved in 6.5r3 hence why you do not see an issue here.

I hope that helps.

Kind Regards,

Thank you for the info Gary.
Didn't notice there was a 6.6r2 release, so I missed that note.

Can confirm that everything works fine with 6.6r2 on AP230, but will be sticking to the golden release.

Best regards,
Robert
