Hi,

Suppose a client  receving a good rssi from the  ap  (-45dBm) and another worst client  is getting -80 dBm.

and ap power  max is 17dBm

What will happen when the worst client talking to the ap ?

Is this because of bad deployment ?

Thanks

As far as I know, the worst client always takes the others with them in the performance. To say however there is bad deployment is not always true. The worst device can be a verry old one or badly made on. Don't forget that the receiving end has to talk back to the AP and so when the device has a longer way back (sometimes just because of poor parts or something), it makes the value of the dBm

Hi,what I mean by worst client means client with a bad nic ( not 802.11 b) .

A nic like proxim reporting -45 dBm and a phone reporting  -75 dBm.

if a phone need a good signal we need to add an additional ap?

Thanks

Yes, sounds like sadly you indeed need an additional AP.
