POE consumption

I'm looking at the power consumption of AP330s on my poe switches and am noticing anywhere from 5.2 watts to 5.7 watts usage per ap.  For the sake of planning and expectations, I'm wondering if that's normal usage or not.  How much power do your AP330s generally consume?

That seems reasonable for a normal AP.  Typically consumption is driven by transmit time on 5GHz, the CPU and transmit time on 2.4 GHz in that order.  So if you have a lot of clients on 5GHz driving low datarates you will see higher power consumption.  That said most companies spend most of their days with quiescent APs with short peak load times like when everybody comes to work in the morning or just after lunch... that said averaging between 5-6W is not unusual.

That's a great explanation.  Thanks Adam.
