Playstation AP Choice Problem

PlayStation 4s seem to have a hard time choosing the best AP to connect to. Rather than choose the AP that is right outside their dorm room, it is choosing one from the floor above or below and they end up with a poor signal. This seems to be only happening with the PS4s and not other devices. Has anyone seen this kind of behavior?

I’m not sure how to tune the PS4, but I would look at my AP radio profiles. In the 2.4 spectrum, make sure lower connection rates are disabled and reduce max power. I don’t think bandsteering will help; isn’t the PS4 2.4 only? Good luck.

Johnny this is a good point you raise. We did notice Sony PS4's having a hard time choosing the best AP.

Thanks,
Douglas

We have over 100 on our campus, it is a huge pain point.
