Plantronics Bluetooth Headsets - RF Interferences 2.4 GHz

Hi community,

one of our customers had real bandwidth problems. The issue occured in just one building, so it could not be a configuration problem.

We did some tests with a spectrum analyzer and found out that there were a lot of bluetooth interferences. The source of this interferences are bluetooth Plantronics headsets, which were located in this building in almost every office.

The only way to speed up performace is to get rid of this headsets or move to the 5 GHz band.

You can see in the screenshot below how the bluetooth does the frequency hopping all over the 2.4 GHz band (these small waves (good to see from channel 8-13) in the SpectrumDensity, and red dots in the Spectogram (also good to see from channel 8-13))

Thanks for sharing ! Bluetooth can have quite an impact on wifi performance :-(
