No Spectrum Analysis with WIPS in 6.1r3

I was working on a 6.1r3 site last night and went to run a spectrum analysis on an AP330 access point running the 6.1r3 firmware and I was advised that I couldn't run a spectrum analysis as WIPS was enabled. Is this a new "feature" of 6.1r3 as I don't remember it being an issue with 6.1r2?

Crowdie,

Unfortunately this is a known issue in the 6.1r3 release:

30343 When WIPS (wireless intrusion prevention system) is not enabled, all channels are rapidly scanned in the spectrum analysis scan cycle. However, when WIPS is enabled, there is a delay in the scanning time of some channels and other channels are not scanned at all during the scan cycle.

This is definitely something that we are working to fix in a future release, so no, it is not a new "feature" as you say :)

Thanks for that update Brian.

I have spoken to the customer and advised them as such.
