No realm or services showing up in the bonjour manager

Hi,
I have installed everything according to the manual. I installed one Aerohive BG, with 4 vlan' over a eth connected to the vm. vlan 15 is the management vlan (dhcp, and working as the vm gets an IP) vlan 31, 33, 60 are the vlan's with bonjour services on them. I see those vlans in ESXi, but I don't see them on the vm. I am using show interfaces as the command to show them (found it on the blog post). Looking at the bonjour hive page I see now realm and no services. I am guessing that my switch configuration might be wrong. I have a Dell 5448 Powerconnect switch. Configured the port as a Trunk port with vlan 15 Untagged and 31,33,60 Tagged. spanning-tree portfast is on for the port. What did I overlook?

Hi Addy,

In Esxi is the virtual switch set up to allow those VLANs to get to the Bonjour gateway virtual appliance? If you open up the console to the BG you can run show bonjour-gateway status and that will output what VLANs that it is seeing. Also you can do a show interface and show l3 interface to see if there are bonjour-gateway interfaces on those specified VLANs. Those Bonjour interfaces will need to receive DHCP so they can function on those networks as well.

Thanks,

Deven

The Bonjour Gateway uses DHCP discovers as a keepalive communication, so if there is no DHCP on VLAN x or that DHCP server isn't responding to the BG's continuous DHCP Discovers, then the BG will not think the VLAN exists. The current DHCP retry limit is 2, but it can be increased. I would suggest trying 'int mgt0 dhcp keepalive retry 10' in the CLI of the Bonjour Gateway to increase this.
