No connection to new AP130

Hi all

We just got an AP130 for testing.
I connected the AP to DHCP and it seems to get 192.168.0.67 which is fine.

The LED is on for 4 sec and off for 1 min, as told to be correct for an AP130 connection.

However i cannot see the AP130 in Hivemanager NG even though i added the device serial and entitlement key.
The device is shown under monitor, but the status is red and a configuration audit is shown: "Could not view configuration on device 103031970563976. There is no version for the device, try setup a CAPWAP connection to HiveManager."

The serial number seems to be correct.

Also i cannot connect to 192.168.0.67 locally. It gives me this security issue: SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP

Something that i might be missing?

Best regards

Mike, is your instance of NG on prem or cloud based?

Is there a firewall rule in place to allow the subnet/network your APs are on to be contacted by the HM-Online? And with the correct discovery ports i.e. CAPWAP.

When you say allow subnet. What do you mean? I might be missing something here. I opened the UDP12222, TCP80, TCP443 without any luck.

Hi,

The error SSL_ERROR_NO_CYPHER_OVERLAP occurs with the HTTPS initial setup UI on an AP because the version of HiveOS installed is old. This error will go away once the AP is updated.

(We used to use an RC4-based cipher suite but have since switched to an AES-based cipher suite after RC4 was deprecated by the industry.)

You should, however, be able to SSH on to the AP or use the console via something like PuTTY.

From there, I suggest reviewing aspects such as:

show int mgt0

show dns

ping {default gateway}

ping www.google.co.uk

show capwap client

capwap ping hmng-prd-ie-cwps-01.aerohive.com

capwap ping hmng-prd-ie-cwps-02.aerohive.com

capwap ping hmng-prd-ie-cwps-03.aerohive.com

capwap ping hmng-prd-ie-cwps-04.aerohive.com

capwap ping hmng-prd-ie-cwpm-01.aerohive.com

Regards,

Nick
