Multiple SSIDs on one network policy

I have multiple SSIDs on one network policy, however, I do not want to broadcast all those SSIDs on every access point.

Is there a way, beyond individually modifying each AP's "SSID Allocation" option and/or creating a new network policy, to only broadcast certain SSIDs on certain APs?

I believe you could select all of the APs that you don't want an SSID on in mass in the Monitor tab and you would be able to modify them all at once.

Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be one of the options.

I can change network policies for multiple APs. I can even change the broadcast power for multiple APs. However, I cannot change the broadcast SSIDs on multiple APs. Only 1-by-1.

Anyone know of a work-around?

Looks like you're right. Now that we are talking about this, I remember having this issue a couple of months ago and the way I worked around it was by cloning my existing network policy, giving it a different name, adding a second SSID to the newly cloned policy, and switching the APs that I wanted to have 2 SSIDs to the new policy. It isn't the most elegant way to go about it, but it has been working for me.

Ya, and that was exactly what I was trying to avoid. I'm trying to go from multiple network policies down to 1. They're not making it easy... ;)

Dan,
It looks to me like you and Luke have already discussed the two ways to accomplish this with current product; either use multiple almost-identical network policies (yuk) or touch every device (also yuk). Basically, you're asking for us to simplify configuring a use-case we didn't consider back in our original designs.

For whatever it's worth, the current Product Management team already has been considering ways to make this easier now that we see more and more customers wanting to set things up similar to you, so you probably will see support in a future version of HiveOS and HiveManager to permit you to select SSIDs by location, by device tags, and/or by other attributes.

Our early autumn release is already pretty full so it's unlikely that this will appear then, but we do see the value and importance so it may well show up in the winter release.
