Monitoring hivemanager NG with SNMP

Oke I have a question is it possible to monitor the AP ́s thru the hivemanager that is hosted by Aerohive. Our AP ́s are attached to the hivemanager NG and I want to monitor these AP ́s by monitoring the controller. I don ́t even know if this is possible because i found nothing online and in guides. The problem is that we have AP ́s in different sites and it would be a pain to enable SNMP on each AP.

Hi Jeroen,

We would expect you to use our HMNG APIs for this type of use case rather than SNMP.

Please refer to: https://developer.aerohive.com/

Thanks,

Nick

two more questions it is required that a mail is send when something critical happens so that a ticket can be created. Is this possible in API or do we need to rely on the controller for sending critiical alerts. second question why are there SNMP server settings in hivemanager NG when you recommended to use APIs

Jeroen, you could also use an external tool to ping the access points so you do not rely on the HiveManager.
