Modify the rogue AP alert email

The rogue AP alert email reads as follows:
A rogue AP has been detected in the same backhaul network as that of the Aerohive device.
The in-net rogue AP 0015FF350485 was detected by Aerohive device AP11 (E01C411F1740).

I would like the email to include the SSID of the rogue and the location of the detecting AP. That would make the email much more actionable.

Fraser,
Good idea, we already had that on our backlog. I don't think it will make the next release (spring) but don't see any reason right now why we won't have it done by the one after that (summer).

Good to know. Please also add the Vendor lookup to the request.

If you mean OUI lookup, I think that is best done elsewhere as the list changes relatively frequently and it would be poor form to hard code a set in from a particular snapshot in time to HiveOS.

And... we don't want something else to have to upload to the APs like the L7 signatures just for OUI lookup. If it was entirely automatic, that would placate me.

It is, however, very easy to use things like https://www.wireshark.org/tools/oui-lookup.html which are kept updated. There are offline tools too if needed.

I'm referring to the functionality in HiveManager already, where the list of rogues has a Vendor column.

Yes, you're right. And the email would be sent from HiveManager so it is in a position to perform the lookup, not HiveOS. Sorry, long day and wasn't really thinking! :)
