I'm using HiveManager Online and after updating my AP110 to the newest firmware (5.1r4) from 4.0, it has lost contact to CAPWAP. Have tried changing the HiveManager Host Address to redirector.aerohive.com, but with no luck.

How can I get connected to the HiveManager again?

So one way that works, that I've used requires a few steps, but will reconnect your AP to your instance of HMOL:

1.) Login to your HMOL and record the URL in the address bar (https://hm-useast51-14.aerohive.com/h...). You only need the hm-useast51-14.aerohive.com portion for what we're going to do.

2.) Click on MyHive to get brought to the screen where you can go to your HMOL or your HMOL Redirector.

3.) On this screen you should see your VHM ID. Record it.

4.) SSH into your AP and we are going to manually assign your AP(s) to your HMOL instance.

5.) To assign it to the correct HMOL cluster, issue the following command: capwap client server name (insert info recorded in Step 1 here)

6.) To assign it to the correct VHM ID, issue the following command: capwap client vhm-name (insert info recorded in Step 3).

7.) Be sure to issue a save command in the case that the AP reboots it retains the HMOL And VHM info with: save config

That should do it...

edit: as it omitted info I put in when using "< >'s".

Just tried it, but no luck. -Unless the actual connecting-to-HMOL takes more than 15-20 minutes for the AP to do. Also tried rebooting it.

The only difference from your steps, is the VHM ID, which I couldnt fin under My Hive, but found it under HMOL -> Home -> Administration -> License Management
-Does it matter if the ID is with capital letters or not? I copied it from HMOL, where it's with capital letters.

Cheers :-)

Nicky,

The VHM-ID on that screen isint the one we're looking for. That one is more for support to quickly access your HMOL instance. We need the this one...

Glad I could help.

Sorry for the initial confusion on the VHM ID.
