loosing performance when using Aerohives builtin firewall

We would like to block Netflix via the built in firewall. We are using AP370.

I suppose that our accesspoint has to work "harder" doing this. We are afraid that normal traffic will slow down. Is this correct or ?
We could also use QoS with some rate control.
Would that be a better idea ?

Hi Jan,

This shouldn't tangibly affect performance unless you have APs close to having 100% CPU utilisation. Have you tried this? Do you have data suggesting otherwise?

Thanks,

Thanks for your answer.
I have been on a holiday therefor the late answer.
We will make a rapport and then see "before firewall rules and after".

what is recommended  - how many firewall rules can you use ?

As with any firewall I've ever worked with, traffic is processed until a match is found, therefore try to limit the amount of processing by structuring your rules so that ones with the most hits get processed first.
