Looking for alternative to Aerohive's Bonjour Gateway

I've been mostly pleased with our Aerohive network since installing it this summer, but am having continual problems with Bonjour Gateway not propagating advertisements properly. Support has been working on it for a while, but is telling me that a solution may be weeks away. In the meantime, I have a crowd of teachers who are upset that they can't reliably project their iPads in their classrooms.

Can anyone recommend a free or low cost alternative to Aerohive's Bonjour Gateway. I'm looking for a solution that I can use temporarily while Aerohive fixes their product.

Bryan-did you ever get any solutions to this? I am in the exact same boat as you-in fact I've had a ticket that engineering has been working on for 6 months now and haven't had any progress-that's unacceptable to me and I've gotten nowhere with them or contacting anyone at Aerohive that cares to push things along.

Engineering has given me a private build that may help. I'll be testing it this week. They say that a true fix for the issue won't come until November.

I'm also very frustrated with the situation.

Engineering is working on this issue and plans to provide a bug fix for Bonjour in the next release which will be called 6.1r3. No absolute release date has been specified, but mid November is rumored to be a an unofficial target for this release baring any unforeseen events.

Cisco Meraki also provides a bonjoure gateway. Sadly you have to buy at least on access point cause they don't sell the license seperatly. That is why I got involved with Aerohive in the first place.

But I too hope for a quick release of 6.1r3. Cause after I was upgraded to 6.1r2 I have had more trouble with the bonjoure gateway then before. :-/

Kind Regards

We had similar issue, we are currently using 6.1r2 with a virtual applicance acting as our gateway we resolved the issue by scripting a reboot of the va every 3 hours.

We have been running this setup for about 6 months without issue. We still cannot get the bonjour realm feature working but the advertisements are very fast and reliable.

Hopefully the recently released 6.1r3 will fix this issue and also remove the need to reboot the va
