LLDP information disappeared after upgrade to 6.8r3

Hello,

I've been inform by one of support engineers working on ticket regarding this issue that LLDP information has been removed from HM 6.8r3  "by design". I'd like to raise a "feature request" to get back this feature to HM as many of our customer saw this information on previous versions of HM and find this as really useful.

Could I get update if LLDP information will be back to HM as they used to be there before, please ?

Thanks

Szymon

Hi Szymon,

I suspect there are some crossed wires here. The display of LLDP information has not been removed from HM 6.8r2/6.8r3.

Are you referring to CDP information that was previously shown, incorrectly, where only LLDP information should have appeared? (This was a bug, CDP is not LLDP.)

LLDP supersedes CDP and is standards based, as opposed to being Cisco proprietary.

If so, LLDP should be enabled on edge switching instead of or in addition to CDP so that it appears in the 'at a glance' places.

Additionally, CDP information can be viewed via the Utilities > LLDP/CDP menu.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for get back to me.

One of our customer upgrade HM from 6.6r3 to 6.8r3 and all LLDP info just disappeared. They didn't change any configuration on a switches side of network and all LLDP info were visible under 6.6r3. I asked them to check LLDP status on AP itself and on HM GUI and this get back as on below screenshots. When customer checked AP firstly "show lldp" command show that lldp is not enabled. I ask them to turn on them using "lldp" and "lldp cdp" command and "show lldp" came back with enable status but still not seeing any lldp info on a HM.

I checked conversation about cdp/lldp details before raise ticket but customer was able to see LLDP info coreclty under 6.6r3. We don't have access to their internal network to check if LLDP hasn't been disabled on a switches itself but customer advise that definetelly no changes has been made on any of switches.

If this feature hasn't been removed could you advise how we can troubleshoot it further, please ?

Thanks

Szymon

What is the output of "Show CDP Neighbors" from under Utilities > LLDP/CDP in HM6?

I suspect that you will see the neighbours there. If so, it will mean that CDP is enabled and LLDP is disabled on the edge switching.

I have taken the case that you have open to avoid duplicated effort.
