iPhone 5 ios 7.1 shows LTE/4G in status bar

I'm hoping someone can help. I've had 2 complaints at a customer of iPhone users running ios 7.1 having a problem whereby the status bar still shows as connected to LTE or 4G rather than showing the Wifi Fan, even though when you check the wireless networks under settings, it shows as connected.

I have told the customer that this is highly likely to be a problem on the device rather than the Aerohive WLAN, but the customer has said that he doesn't have this issue at home.
The Aerohive WLAN is configured for WPA 2 enterprise with 802.1x auth, unlike his home which is PSK. Not sure whether there is a correlation to this.

I have run client monitor on one of these devices and cant see any errors. I can see him roaming through the building, but no errors.

Currently the fix seems to be to forget the WLAN on the iPhone and reconnect and authenticate. This is only a temporary fix though.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Thanks
Neal

Neal,
I too have seen this since my iPhone was upgraded to iOS7.1, but not only on Aerohive-powered networks. I've seen it in my local Starbucks and in shopping malls.

I think your suspicion is correct that it's a display issue only as I haven't had any connectivity problems.

Hi Mike

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it's a strange one. I think it's a bug with ios.

Cheers
