We need a list of IP addresses for our firewall to allow the access points to reach HMOL. Can you please tell us were we can get this information / tell us what IP addresses we need to allow & how often they change? This is for New Zealand.

For gear to get out initially, it will most likely go to the redirector site (redirector.aerohive.com I believe).  Once there and if provisioned, you will just need the to do a nslookup on whatever your URL is for your HMOL account.  For instance, I have a beta server hosted at hm-useast-beta.aerohive.com

Pulling up a command prompt and running nslookup on that gives me the following.

Default Server:  UnKnownAddress:

Default Server:  UnKnown

> hm-useast-beta.aerohive.com
Server:  UnKnown

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:    hm-useast-beta.aerohive.com

That tells me that my IP for that HMOL translates to

The HMOLs in Aussie are housed in the Amazon data centres in Sydney.  The subnets are as follows:
The server housing your HMOL can change due to the following events:
  • For DR purposes (not often)
  • Every time you do an upgrade (e.g. 6.1r6a to 6.2r1).  Each server can only hold HMOLs of the same version so when you upgrade your HMOL the data is moved to a sever running the HMOL version you are upgrading to.
Hope that helps.
