Hi Vincente,

We have identified the following workaround to allow the 11.26 HMNG VA release to interoperate with vCenter and vSphere 6.5.

1) Rename hivemanager-ng-signed-11.26.0.29-aerohive-2017-10-10.ova to hivemanager-ng-signed-11.26.0.29-aerohive-2017-10-10.7z

2) Extract this via 7Zip to a hivemanager-ng-signed-11.26.0.29-aerohive-2017-10-10 directory.

3) Delete hivemanager-ng-signed.mf and hivemanager-ng-signed.cert to remove the signature. This is necessary as not doing this prevents modification of the OVF file.

4) Edit the hivemanager-ng-signed-11.26.ovf so that where it currently contains:

<VendorUrl>Aerohive Networks, Inc.</VendorUrl>

It then contains:

<VendorUrl>http: // www.aerohive.com /</VendorUrl>

5) Deploy via the remaining files, the VMDK and OVF, in vSphere.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi,

I can't post the XML snippit directly due to the behaviour of the community forum so please do not copy and paste.

Please change the inner-part of the VendorUrl tag to Aerohive's URL. There should be no spaces in the value.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Gouron,

You would need to open a support case.

Gouron,

I have clarified that we do not officially support VMware vCenter/vSphere 6.5.

The expectation is that official support will come with the next release of the HMNG VA.

I have made a modified OVF file available here:

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Gouron,

Our data sheet currently mentions that 6.0 is required:

https://www.aerohive.com/wp-content/uploads/Aerohive_Datasheet_HiveManager_NG_Virtual_Appliance.pdf

I have referred Chris to this thread.

Thanks,

Nick

Hi Gouron,

As Nick mentions, we do not yet support this version officially.  Please let me know if you have any further concerns about the workaround if you must use version 6.5.

Regards

Chris

Hi Gouron,

To avoid any confusion, we do provide support for installations that are up-and-running and have been installed in 6.5 where the modified OVF file has been used.

We do not officially support installation of HMNG in 6.5 at this point.

Best regards,

Nick

Luckily I came across this post before trying to achieve this very combination today!

So in confirmation of the steps Nick posted, I just got an environment up and running. :)
