Ideas around handing out PPSK's

Hi,

This isn't so much of a technical question, but more to do with process.

A few months back, we were going to use Self Registration and PPSKs for our guest / visitor Wi-Fi network. The primary reason being that we wanted a low admin overhead solution for the issuance of PPSKs. That said, we do have some sites where the use of Self Registration could be open to abuse from outside the business (i.e. public within range of the network). Furthermore, Aerohive recently changed the way Self Registration works, so that clients on an isolated guest network cannot open the Self Registration page unless there is an IP route to the AP (which I don't like the idea of, as it means opening up the isolated guest network).

So, I'm keen to understand how others issue PPSK's to guests or visitors. For example, pre-cut pieces of paper with the code on it, email, SMS, etc. How well do these methods work in terms of admin overhead?

Unfortunately our visitor badge system is still paper-based, so we can't use that.

Thanks
Tony

We're currently working on implementing a new visitor system within our organisation. I'll keep you posted regarding the progress. We're due to carry out some wider testing within the next week or so. Will keep you posted.
