ID Manager accounts expire before they are created

When ID Manager account expiration is set to be (e.g.) 1AM and a guest is authorized after this time the credentials that are created will have already expired and therefore be useless.

Setting: Account expiration "Expires Daily at 01 hr 00 min"
Authorize a guest any time after 1 AM on July 16, 2013 (e.g. 2013-07-16 14:00:00)
Guest is created, but they are valid starting 2013-07-16 14:00:00 and ending 2013-07-16 01:00:00

Since the end time is before the start time they credentials are never valid and the guest cannot log in.

We would like to create credentials that expire in an early AM hour so that late-working guests are not inconvenienced but are expired before the next business day. We have opened a support ticket, but this is considered a feature request rather than a bug.

I can't see any reason why creating an already expired credential makes sense, so we would like to suggest this functionality change so that the expiration occurs the next time the hour/minute is reached (so in my example 2013-07-17 01:00).

We have worked around this using credentials that expire after a set amount of time, but we would prefer to use the expiring at a set hour feature.

Thank you.

Hello! If the expiration time is for 1am, but the user logs in at 2am (which, today, wouldn't work, as you pointed out) - if I follow you correctly, you want the creds to be created, but valid until the next time 1am rolls around - is that correct? That is, if you have an account that expires Thursday at 1am, but the user logs in on Thursday at 2am, the credentials would be valid then, until Friday at 1am, right?

If this is the case, wouldn't those credentials then be valid during working hours ... That's, Friday morning from 9am-5pm? Isn't this what you wanted to avoid? Ai misunderstanding? :)

Hello,

Your description seems close, but maybe I didn't explain what we want perfectly.

We frequently have guests who work late, sometimes past midnight. In these cases I don't want them to have to re-authenticate, but I want the credentials to expire by the next business day. So what I would like is:

-- Set credentials to expire at (e.g.) 4AM
-- Guest arrives at 9AM on thursday and receives credentials
-- Guest works until 2AM friday with the same credentials throughout
-- Were guest to return at 9AM friday the credentials would be expired

What happens now

-- Set credentials to expire at (e.g.) 4AM
-- Guest arrives at 9AM on thursday and receives credentials
-- Credentials don't work because they expired at 4AM thursday

Thanks
