ID Manager Active Clients

I have noticed recently that ID Manager doesn't appear to give an accurate representation of 'Active clients' - my network policy only allows 2 devices per PPSK, yet according to ID Manager a particular user/key can have 4 or 5 sessions.

However some of these sessions have 00:00 as the duration, so are technically not active. It would appear that the appliance doesn't filter these properly.

Does anyone have any more information on this subject? I still appear to be having these issues.

My thoughts are...

If stale sessions are being shown and this is causing you issues, you should open a support case with your point of support for the official support structure to investigate. Your point of support will escalate to Tier 3 within Aerohive if necessary.

If it requires code fix, that's the route that you should take.

Just to confirm, is this just a cosmetic issue or is it service affecting in some way?

It's tricky to categorise, in some cases you will have three 'sessions' for the same device all with the an identical time stamp. Two of these sessions will be 00:00 minutes/seconds in duration and will have no data passed.

At other times it will be a single device and a single session.

From the testing I have carried out it would appear that it is a cosmetic issue within IDM. As services in the areas where IDM is used are functioning as expected...however that is not to say there isn't a wider issue somewhere that I cannot see.
