Hi Rocco,

Without many specifics I will give you the best answer I can; are you are worried about someone stealing an Aerohive Branch Router, connecting it back up and using it go get into your network? If so, I can think of a way to prevent this but it would require you to know the device was stolen in the first place.

If you know that the Branch Router was stolen, simply log into your HiveManager, tick the checkbox next to the compromised device, then click "Device Inventory > Remove".

You will now be prompted with a window asking you to confirm the remove as the following will occur if you proceed:
  1. The device will be removed from the HiveManager
  2. The device will be reset to factory default settings
    1. If the device is currently connected to the HiveManager it will be reset immediately
    2. If the device is disconnected from the HiveManager, the next time it connects it will be reset
    3. Note: if you store a bootstrap config on the device, resetting to factory defaults will not be effective as the device will simply load the bootstrap config after the reset
  3. The device's serial number will be removed from your HiveManager Online account (if applicable)
    1. This cause the device to be effectively blocked from reconnecting to your HMOL VHM in the future as the serial number list is also used as a whitelist for connecting devices
    2. This will also ensure that your license slot for this device does not get used up by a stolen device reconnecting

Hope this helps
