How do I remove unused Realms and/or BDD's (Free Bonjour Gateway)?

In the process of figuring out how the free Bonjour Gateway works, I've wound up with two Realms that are no longer valid (shown in the Bonjour Services window). I've removed the gateways, but the Realms and BDD's remain. Is there a way to remove these? Alternatively, is there a way to tear down my HiveManager account or profile in order to start over?

I've been working with the free bonjour gateway for over three weeks now. My original post remains unanswered. I went through the registration process again to begin a new identity with aerohive with a new e-mail address and activation code, and my gateway turned up in my original Aerohive HiveManager account. I inquired of free_bonjour_support hoping that I could find some assistance, given the product is probably a sales lead generator. I was politely snubbed back to this forum.

I can't get this software to work with any reliability or consistency, which is why I wanted to start over from scratch. So I'll amend my original question: How do I blow away my HiveManager and start over?

My experience with this software to date has been extremely unpleasant. Not a good first impression.

hi Andy,
I'm sorry for the struggle you're having with the free bonjour gateway product. To answer your first question, you can erase the database of your HiveManager by going to Home - Administration - HiveManager Operations - Erase Database.

The realms are configured in the device itself, so (depending on version, you either go to Monitor-Devices-Modify or Configuration-Devices-Modify) click on the free bonjour gateway device and click modify. Scroll down to "Bonjour Gateway Configuration", and you can modify the realm there. Good luck!

Hello Abby,

I have the same problem. I want to delete a realm which is a leftover from a former test. Sadly I can't delete it (I'am using the cloud based HiveManager) and I also can't delete the HiveManagers database as you described.

So how to get rid of this leftover realm?

Kind Regards
René

Hi Andy

Did Abby's response help to resolve your issue? Rene, can you share your VHM-ID so I can take a look?

Chris,

Abby's response assumed a regular hive account. I am not an Aerohive customer and was using only the Bonjour gateway, which does not have the elements of the GUI she referenced in her reply. The experience did lead me to realize that I cannot support a production environment with the free Bonjour gateway due to the lack of effective controls and enterprise support. No knock on Aerohive... the gateway is just not positioned for enterprise use.

Regards,
Adnuy
